at blushgarden, we think differently about reading and writing beauty product reviews. we believe product reviews should provide you with detailed information, let the writer quickly and easily share their thoughts, and be a fun experience for all. to achieve this, we provide a ratings scale for distinct criteria, alongside traditional written comments. this format gives reviewers a way to provide an in-depth review of the same specific aspects of a product, allowing you zero in on the criteria that are most important to you.

without the need for long-form written text, everyone saves time. don’t let us discourage you from waxing poetic if you are so inclined, some people are gifted writers and should share if they want to. we just want to encourage and provide great reviews without that particular barrier to entry.

as an example, one rating criteria for makeup brushes is bristles. bristles ranges from hard to soft. Hard might be a desired quality for you, while soft might be desired for someone else. there isn’t a right answer, only your opinion.

an added benefit to the scales is quickly seeing how a product might perform. you can identify that a product is rated highly for bristles without reading a lot of text. easily compare and evaluate similar products based on identical criteria. apples to apples, if you will.

we would honestly love to hear your feedback, if you have an idea for a new rating criteria, let us know! post in the feedback forum, or send us an email to .

not a review but perhaps helpful - here is a description from the source: What it is: A natural-bristled brush featuring slightly rounded edges that perfectly apply shadow to the crease and corners of the eye. What it does: Its brush hairs are slightly more narrow for controlled application. How to use: Dip the angled side of the brush into the shadow and tap off excess. For crease contouring, press the angled side horizontally into the crease with the longer end toward the outside of the eye. For a bolder effect, press vertically into the crease with the longer end downward. For corner contouring, sweep the angled side downward from the outermost area of the crease, toward the lashes, finishing above the iris.
